I am shopping for a new Cat Convertor becuase my check engine light is on and the diagnostic test show Catalyst problems…..so i dont know if my car is CA model or what! u could check on the drivers door throw the inside there is always a sticker telling u the year of the car and were was it made????????

You can go to advance auto or auto zone, they will be able to tell you, I had the same question at one point. Its something simple…but i forgot exactly how to tell….but advance auto or autozone will tell you.

Yes…open the drivers door….there is a sticker just inside the door jam where the door striker pin is….it will have the info that you need.

Look for a white rectangular sticker in the engine compartment. Can be under the hood, on top of the radiator area, or on the strut tower, usually the passenger side.
Somewhere on that it will say something like “This car conforms to all California (or Federal) emissions standards for the 1999 model year”.
