1975 MG Mark IV 2 Door

California car since new, garaged, just in time for SUMMER!!! The ride is from luxurious to sporty with 4 Speed Manual Transmission/ 4 Cylinder Rear Wheel Drive, transmission is tight but smooth and the temperature always remains cool. This particular car drives particularly well and must be driven to be fully appreciated. Without a doubt you will look long and hard to find a finer example of this rare and very collectible and super striking 1975 MG-B with only 27K original miles, always garaged with no accidents and always owned since new by two very particular southern California owners – never abused! For those who are unfamiliar, MGBs are the most beloved British sports cars launched by MG Cars in May 1962 to replace the MGA and manufactured until 22 October 1980 by the British Motor Corporation and later by British Leyland Motor Corporation (in 1968). The MGB was a modern design at the time of its introduction. It utilized a monocoque structure that reduced both weight and manufacturing costs as well as adding chassis strength. This was a considerable improvement in comparison to that of the traditional body-on-frame construction used on the earlier MGA and T-type models as well as the MGB’s rival, the Triumph TR series. The design included wind-up windows and a comfortable driver’s compartment, with plenty of legroom and a parcel shelf behind the seats. The MGB’s performance was brisk for the period, with a 0–60 mph (96 km/h) time of just over 11 seconds, aided by the relatively light weight of the car. Handling was anD still remains one of the MGB’s strong points. The MGB was one of the first cars to feature controlled crumple zones designed to protect the driver and passenger in a 30 mph (48 km/h) impact with an immovable barrier (200 ton).[1] Early in the 1974 model year, to meet impact regulations, US models saw the chrome bumper overriders replaced with large rubber ones, nicknamed “Sabrinas” after the well-endowed British actress. In the second half of 1974 the chrome bumpers were replaced altogether. A new, steel-reinforced black rubber bumper at the front incorporated the grille area as well, giving a major restyling to the B’s nose, and a matching rear bumper completed the change. Soft top nice dash, no cracks. Carpets like new. Factory luggage rack lock and a separate hidden ignition kill switch, aftermarket FM/AM/CD with remote, matching full parade booth (tonneau cover). “Charlie”, is a fast & furious living example of automotive history, was fully restored and thoroughly sorted out by the premiere MG restorers at Darren’s MG Service in Chatsworth, California. Completed in September 2008 at a cost of K. Documents available on request. Among the ALL NEW (NOT Rebuilt) parts on the car are: British Racing Green paint to factory specs, deluxe zippered top, chrome Dayton wire wheels and lug nuts, wider tires, water pump, thermostat, interior panel, seats, door moldings, hazard, fan, directional and horn switches, wood steering wheel & shift knob, header rail seal & strip, battery, electric fuel pump, fuel lines and clamps, clutch pressure plate, clutch disc, clutch slave cylinder, windshield base rubber, all lenses, all lamp base rubber, door handle gaskets, chrome body strips and hardware, ashtray, chrome exhaust tip, radiator cap, spark plugs, distributor cup, upgraded Weber carburetor (extra power) and many others. Driven less than 700 miles since restoration, engine runs smooth & holds good oil pressure. It starts promptly, with touch of the key, has exceptional power, and idles smooth and steady. The car handles well, steering is tight, and responsive, and the suspension is sound. Smog check exempt. Inexpensive to insure. Great fun 2 drive!
