We have friends who work for Chrysler and they offered to help us get a new car through their employee discount program. Is it really a good deal? I know buying brand new is super expensive and I am wondering if we are better off buying something slightly used.

I am currently in the process of buying a new car and using the green sheet discount because my grandmother worked for Chrysler. The amount of the discount depends on the vehicle. I bought a dodge stratus in 2004 and saved about $1000 with the discount. I am now buying a Jeep Patriot and will save $1700. If you call or go to a dealership they can tell you how much the discount will be without the number from your friend.
