I rate this a 5 star stereo because it made my 2 12′ Alpine Type R subs hit twice as hard, and mostly because it is detachable. The video playing is very clear, and I like how it displays the artists, and song name when you have your flash drive hooked up to it.Also the installation is simple, espcially since its a single DIN and you can place it in any car without having to get it customized. I havn’t got the piece I need in order to set up the NAVI system, but I will be doing so very soon. If you’re considering getting this stero, I believe you should.

Received this unit through Amazon, received it with in a reasonable time. Self installed the unit, warranty card says that self install with only warrant the unit for 90 days and 1yr if by a Power Acoustic dealer. Unit powered on with no problems at all. All the functions/ features that it offered operated normally, have not tried the ipod, reverse cam, nor the Navi yet. I dont have an Ipod, will get the option Navi box and camera for the reverse in the near future, and am pretty sure that it’ll both work ok, not bad arse but ok. This is my second unit from Power Acoustik, my first was a PTID-4006T, it was a great unit, again self installed it, worked great, then I damaged the face plate and purchased this unit, I wanted a bigger viewing screen.
K, moving along, like what the description and specs states on this unit… its all there. Sensitivity of the touch screen is very good and responds fast, its so sensitive that I am able to use my finger nail, so that I don’t leave finger prints all over the screen. Loading cds is faster then the my previous PTID-4006T. I did wonder if this unit provided a case for the detach face plate, and it did.. lol its a cheasy fabric type case though, kinda like something for a digital camera… it does its job of protecting the screen though! but for sure I am going to get a hard case for it. I am sure it will fit inside the Pelican 1030 Micro Case, I still have not measured the face, been lazy, lol I’ve had this unit for about a month now, that goes to show that the provided case does do it’s job. The lock and the unlocking of the detach face onto the unit seems durable, locks pretty tight, I went to the desert this past weekend and did a “little” off roading, unit was good! No skips, face plate did not fall off, again… locking mechanism works great.
Abilities that are a plus for me:
Its able to dim (high.med.low) during night time driving it can dim pretty low. I get kind of paranoid of on-lookers driving by looking in your vehicle for nice radios, then follow you to the store and such and want to break in for it, and trust me, if you are by your self with no females to hold that detach face in their purse, its going to be a hassle to carry a big fat face plate. I end up hiding mine underneath the seat, but still, that thief who followed you is probably checking your every move to see if you take that face with you. Damn I would hate getting punked, anyways.
It has screen saver which are already in the unit, u can also upload personal pics and such through the sd card reader.
Again, all the functions of this unit works fine, I am happy with my purchase. I am pretty sure that some of the other owners out there may have experienced lemons, sorry but mine is a winner =]. I would continue purchases through Amazon, and buy products from Power Acoustik!
Pretty much it. Thanks for your time.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RNOF8I26TBCNQ This product blew me away when I took it out of the box. I installed it in my 99 Mercury Cougar and it works amazingly. I have my PS2 hooked up in the glove box as well as an amp with 2 10″ subs. The sound output is amazing and the radio is crisp.
The install was simple as each individual wire is labeled such as Front right speaker (+) or front left speaker (-)
The removable screen comes in handy when you leave your car for an extended period of time like going to work or parking in shady areas.
Overall I would give this product 5/5 because of its low price and high functionality.
I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a head-unit that is so versatile with a low price.

Bought and installed this unit in my son’s Mitsubishi Galant. We looked at many different in-dash touch screen units and decided on this one because of the detachable face plate. I just did not trust that a motorized unit would be dependable long-term. We also bought an install kit which included a new double DIN dash piece with “pocket” to accommodate the single DIN unit and wiring harness. This install was intimidating at first book but only took 2 hours. The unit works, looks and sounds great! The interface to USB devices including IPod, MP3 players, phones, flash drives, etc is great. We also like the detachable face plate for when the car is left in parking lots, etc. We had the factory stereo driving a subwoofer amplifier through a line level amplifier. We were able to eliminate the line level amp and drive the subwoofer amplifier directly from this unit’s pre-amp outputs and the sound is way better. I recommend this product.
