I need to change my starter in my 1985 Chrysler LeBaron. I bought a new starter, but we can’t even find the old one. Is it behind a panel? Is there a web-site with free information on how to change the starter?

It sure sounds like you need a mechanic. The starter will be attached to the side of your engine . Its round with a sprocket on top and a couple of wires attached. Follow the red wire from your battery. Auto zone and advanced web sites offer repair instructions. And loan a tool programs. starters are easy to replace. A core charge is money they take until you bring in the old part you remove.

the starter is located toward the back of the engine on the driver’s side. There is a selinoid ….follow the positive cable to the selenoid…then on the other side of the selinoid there is a wire of equal size…follow that down to the starter. Hope this helps
