right on the drivers side in front of the gas tank – inside the frame rail

the compressors are located in the front fenders usually on the drivers side, what more than likely happend is that your rear shocks where leaking and causing the pump to run more than normal and it burned up.

The compressor for the rear air suspension sits directly under the air cleaner housing, at the driver side/front corner of the engine compartment. Simply remove the air cleaner housing to access. Check for power and ground to the compressor, and if they are good, the compressor is burned out. You should repair the air leak to the suspension system or else you will have a repeat failure issue, if that’s not addressed. Hope this helps.

Go to a shop, they should be able to exercise the air suspension system if they have the right scan tool. It sounds like you maybe had a leak in the system, and the compressor burned itself out trying to keep up.
