I just bought a refurbished tonneau motor for my convertible saab. It’s not working.. Do I need to go to the dealer to get it reprogrammed, or is there something I can do myself.. If I have to go to the dealer.. Does anyone know how much it will cost?

The short answer here is, YES, you will have to have the whole top reprogrammed. If the top was working prior to the tonneau motor starting to ratchet you may get away with putting every thing together as if the top was in the closed position and have it work. By the way if your motor was just “ratcheting”, see if you can send it back and drop me a note. I will tell you how to repair it permanently and save a bunch of bucks. If your top was working prior to the motor going out, drop me a note and I will walk you through hopefully getting up and running. Also if you give me your local I will see if there is a good independent shop to take your Saab. Good Luck.
