If a Volvo is still under its warranty, could one service it or get its oil changed, etc, somewhere other than the dealership without voiding the warranty? Just wanted to know. Thanks!

If you do it will void your warranty.

First answer is completely incorrect in all cases.
Yes, you can get the car serviced somewhere besides the dealer.
You can even service it yourself. As long as either the independent shop, or you, do all the required maintenances, use the proper filters and fluids, and most importantly, KEEP RECORDS OF IT.
The warranty cannot legally be voided if you do this, and the manufacturer cannot require you to take it to the dealership for service.
It’s a good idea to at least get SOME of the service done at the dealership, as the techs there will be much more familiar with your particular make of car than an independent shop that works on everything is. So they’ll know all the typical things to keep an eye on once the car gets up there in mileage.
